Strengths:
-
Raw all around athletic ability. Possibly
has the greatest endurance for a wrestler. '95 WWWA singles title
match against Kyoko Inoue resulted in a 60 minute draw, with high spots
from start to finish proving her legendary constitution.
-
Speed. Hits her opponents fast and hard,
about one of the few people that deserves to have her dropkick to be called
a "missile."
-
Intensity. Draws you in her matches
because she's very emotional. Knows how to blend her in ring ability
with involving the audience without sacrificing match quality. Very
few wrestlers know how to do this.
-
Back. Best arch in the entire wrestling
world. Main submission move and her suplexes rely on her bridging
technique. Typically bridges out of pins rather than using the ropes
or kicking out.
-
Powerful leg strength. Gets incredible
extension on her dropkicks that are awe inspiring, no matter times you
see it.
Weaknesses:
-
Recklessness. Tends to rely on putting
on a fast paced match every night, taxing years off her career to give
her fans the best show possible. Should slow down in favor of picking
her nights for good matches and her best spots. Also, should lay
off the tables so her back doesn't die on her.
-
Selling. Come backs have been criticized
to be too quick. While she'll take any bump and allow her opponent
to work any style match, Toyota tends to not sell the previous injury to
create a more interesting wrestling story. Still, it presents her
as the best babyface in women's wrestling.
-
Current role. She's the best in AJW
and their only real draw. But AJW needs to begin to build new stars
for the day she retires.
-
Age. She's slightly younger than Hikari
Fukuoka, who is probably the top women's worker currently, but the years
of high paced matches are catching up.
-
Psychology. Probably her weakest aspect.
Relies too much on hitting her trademark spots rather than developing new
ways for getting her opponents into them. She doesn't need to develop
new spots, just ways to make the matches stimulating. It will increase
her career expectancy.
